Mama, The Melody of The Pattern
In Memorium
My mother Betty Jo Seibold died July 5, 2025. She was born in Odessa Texas on May 31, 1953. She and my Daddy (her second husband) who I will call my Godfather because I do not like the word stepfather. They raised us on the Bible and bands like Led Zepplin.
It was Mama and Granddad who gave me an interest in politics and history, two great loves that have followed me despite the polarization politics has sunken into.
When I was 12 and a half years old and fresh out of Bible School, Mama brought me into the living room, she opened the door to the coffee table and fished out an old large print family Bible she received when she married my biological father. I picked it up and just couldn't put it down. I even read The Book of Ruth in one sitting. While most kids my age back in 1982 were out playing, watching movies and playing video games I spent that summer head deep in the Bible. God Bless Mama! Rest in Peace.
When I was 18 and old enough to vote Mama called me in before taking me to the polls Election Evening 1988 and says "You're now the political pulse of the family, vote what you think is right. In the elections of 2016, 2020 and 2024, Mama sked me what political affiliation was. For this blog it's irrelevant. But Mama was the melody of the pattern and she will be sorely missed.
In Christ,
Jimmy
