My journey with Atkins day 2
Hello Pattern Realm
Okay so you're probably wondering why on the Earth is Jimmy talking about diets. For the past year and a half or maybe more My sister and friends at church have been hammering to me that a good diet is a good path to success especially for someone like me.
And so I agonized over whether a diet would be good for me. My sister and brother-in-law are on keto and swear by it. Ketosis is good unless you've had a low thyroid since first and in that case stay away. So I chose a more flexible diet plan Atkins.
Day one was interesting I have found that the food I have eaten on Atkins to be interesting. It's not so bad to cut back on carbs and really you get a chance to add flavor to your food.
But here's the drawback The first phase of Atkins you can only have 20 neck grams of carbs per day and sometimes the temptations are everywhere and in many cases you have to tell close friends sometimes that you have to say no.
Now I can hear some of you say "geez Jimmy you only went on Atkins because Sharon Osbourne is on Atkins. I knew of Adkins long before she became a paid spokesman a PR icon for the diet. Back in the fall of 2003 I was attending graduate school at Texas Tech University and I noticed that some friends of mine in church were observing dadkins diet. Yeah I'm told that the early phases are pretty strict but guess what they're testimonials on how much weight they have lost has made all the difference.
Now I can hear some of you say low carb? Come on! Those diets are hard to stick by. Well how about the concept I learned this past convention at an ACM impact event where one of my mentors the Cowboy Randy hedge says stick and stay. More news about that soon.
This is definitely not some reactive commentary on Atkins about how hard it is or how easy it is. I think it's a flexible diet if you observe it right, and honestly it goes hand in hand with the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints and their beliefs about the Word of Wisdom
