Distractive Culture Bad for Business
It's your Success Confidence and Thrive Coach and Adversity Educator here to help cure what ails you. We need to get a grip on this melody and show as fellow entrepreneurs and thought leaders that we are the boss's boss!
A few weeks ago I was traveling from Midland Odessa to Salt Lake with a layover in Denver and a wrinkle.
I handed my boarding pass to the skycap who was to escort me to the gate.
*Your name." He said
I gave him my name
There was a pause
"I do not have your name."
A pre-meltdown was washing all over me. "Well you have my boarding pass what's the problem? You know I just can't believe this!"
Suddenly the sky cap regained his focus. "Are you ready to go?"
"Of course I've been ready."
I was escorted to an airline agent for some reason to verify my boarding pass. The lady was observant noticing that I was getting very nervous.
"For Pete's sake get off your phone and pay attention can't you tell he's getting nervous? Get him to his gate!"
What we have here is a failure to communicate in business and in entrepreneurship when we are constantly distracted by what's on our smartphone and electronic devices. The solution I have for myself is rather radical and most people don't like it but I do not like anybody blocking my productivity. I have ADD and divided focus means chaos
There I said it a distractive culture is bad for business. Smartphones can do many wonderful things in the hands of good people but unfortunately many times it can be an enemy to your productivity unless youth right wisely The same thing can be said for any other electronic device. If you use it to waste time when trying to make your life in business during the day well then your sunk. But with the rising generation texting their parents from one end of the house to the other instead of going to talk to them there is a problem.
So as the boss's boss we have to grab the bowl by the horn and admit this I distracted culture is very bad for business
