Overcoming Psychotic Depression
Greetings Pattern Realm
Today I wish to cover a very sensitive subject and it is the subject of a little known mental illness known as psychotic depression.
I began experiencing the symptoms of this back in mid-November to early December 1997 I would skip some of my classes and also barricade myself in my apartment. My ex-wife calmly confronted me about this and so I called to set up an appointment with a psychiatrist.
The first diagnosis came on December 5 1997 Major depression with psychotic features. I was prescribed risperidone and taken off of my antidepressant The doctor thinking that it might have triggered the psychosis.
At first the psychosis was triggered by anxiety but a few months later having moved to the inner city of Arlington Texas the psychosis turned for a while to anger so to the point that by February 1999 my marriage was busted over. I wanted those people that I felt was responsible alongside me who had ruined my marriage to pay.
Put them in June 1999 I had a therapy session with my therapist named Jean and she suggested that perhaps I explored the real emotion behind the anger and I explored sad. My friend Jim Bob began listening once again to fusion jazz and have bought an album by jazz violinist Jean-Luc ponte. At first it triggered the anger psychosis but then it flips around as I explored sad.
For March to June 2000 the psychosis flipped from anger to very sad there was a point in June when I wondered how I was going to make it through it and that is what ultimately led to my spiritual conversion and Awakening.
If yours suffering from depressive psychosis please do not suffer alone find some good support groups Go see a therapist. I know about all the stigma against seeking counseling but there's nothing wrong with that it means you're strong enough to go see someone about your feelings. And please do believe this God loves you and I love you. I really do care about my audiences That's why I do what I do.
In April 2007 my diagnosis changed to bipolar one with psychotic features. In most cases it's a very rare disorder that I think that medical specialists are still grappling with but don't you suffer in silence know that you can always talk to a support group talk to the counselor and most importantly have a talk with God pray and meditate on his word even it means you have to get down on your knees.
In Christ
