Becoming a Person of Influence

Lord's blessing to you Pattern Realm
Today on my thoughts, turn to the subject of influence, something gets a better aphrodisiac than power.
In all my years of studying and knowing about leadership I have had the past 2 years a deeper encounter on how to become a person of ijnfluence.
Well would it do, to each and every one of us, as leaderpreneurs to study influence!  Since, this is, one of my favorite topics I will hereby give you 12 ways to become a person of influence!

1. Accountability:  I kind of like in this to responsibility.  25 years ago when I thought that my father was dying I reconciled with him..  I told him about the events that led to my divorce, and he said one thing that I will never forget.
"James I'm going to teach you something that you must never forget, taking responsibility is the key to success.    Read the words of Jesus in the word of God and He will show you."
My father has since passed on a year ago, but the words still ring true to my mind if you want to be mega successful and be a person of influence you have to take responsibility for yourself and those you choose to lead.
2.  Become an authority in something that you're passionate about, I don't like the word expert.  The experts told my mother when I was four that I was potentially a slow learner.  The experts told me as I was getting ready to graduate from high school and after high school that I would never finish college.  I prefer to call myself an authority a coach or a mentor because in some ways the word expert to me comes across as a group of naysayers.
3.  Communicate authentically.  One thing that I learned from the landmark forum is to be your authentic self and to communicate as such.  Hiding behind what the culture wants you to be it's not help you communicate authentically or helps you be your authentic self something which is very important in today's world.
4.  Dependability:  people have to be able to trust that you will do what you say you will do.  If you won't do something then don't say it.  It's better to under promise and then over deliver then the promise of bill of goods and not keep your word.  I'm moving for steak for any leader who goes back on his or her word.   My maternal grandfather said "if a man's word is good he is good if a man's word is bad, he is really bad."
5.  Ethics:  today's degenerate culture wants to separate us from combining ethics and morality which I firmly believe are synonymous.  Society teaches today in this culture that ethics is a gray area.  But I want to resonate a different cord by saying there is black there is white that is wrong and there is right. V my grandfather used to say "right is right and wrong is wrong and there is no in between."
6.  Family:  this could Jade some single people I know, I know because I've been one.  I looked that if you're single your family is your spiritual community that you belong to and we all play a part in God's family.
I believe along with leading yourself the basic unit of leadership and influence is in the family.  For instance if there's a disagreement with my wife I prefer that we settle it calmly no matter what cauldron of anger may be in each one of us.  A real leader of a family must show some restraint when giving tough love and correction.  That being said it doesn't mean that we don't discipline the people around us we just leave them calmly and with strong guidance.

7.  Godliness.  I believe in Jesus Christ that I am saved, and being saved, and that I will be saved.  What that means is that I still have to live a righteous holy life before God.  I live the commandments and I do the best to live the dietary laws of my faith.  Godliness can help you become a great person of influence.

8.  Human relations:  I believe all managers and leaders must have strong human relations skills, that way you can make it a win-win situation for yourself and others around you.  When you consider the people you lead to be your team human relations is a must on how you deal with the people around you.
9.  Integrity:  integrity is multifaceted.  In the basic level it means honesty the penalty and trustworthiness.  These are the values that my mother and grandparents taught me
But one more thing I learned from the landmark forum is the integrity means being true to you who you are and the values that you choose to take upon yourself.

10.  Teamwork:  John c Maxwell said this "teamwork makes the dream work.". If you are leaving a team that is thinking together towards one business One vision then you can hold influence very strongly.

11.  Emotional intelligence and authenticity.  At the leader as a person of influence you have to know that sometimes it's okay to not be okay.  But at the same time you are called to change your mental state by taking a stance and doing an inner cry within yourself that means confidence.  Dr Drlatorro McNeal II calls it "the flip switch technique."
12.  Listen actively.  This is a communication skill that all leaders need to have among many other communication skills.  Listening actively means that your team works well with you.

In Christ
